Jessica Simpson has been on many different diets over the years from Atkins to South Beach to the “Don’t Eat Crap Diet” that she used to get ready for the Dukes of Hazard movie. Jessica is now on a new diet and fitness plan and reports are that she has already lost 20 pounds in just one month. Her newest diet is the 5 Factor Diet and she is being trained by its creator Harley Pasternak. Earlier Vanessa Williams, Katherine Heigl and Simpson’s on-off ex-boyfriend John Mayer have also stuck to the 5-Factor Diet to get back in shape.

Meals – The 5 factor diet will have you eating 5 healthy meals a day. It includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks. The meal recipes are tasty and include real food. They are based around low fat proteins, low to moderate Glycemic Index carbohydrate, fiber, healthy fats, and sugar-free beverages (like water)
Exercise – Fitness is an essential component to weight loss on the 5 Factor Diet. You should be doing at least some moderate exercise 20 minutes a day 5 days a week (there’s that number 5 again) on the 5 Factor Diet.
Diet Duration – This is a lifestyle diet that is meant to last the rest of your life.
Time Commitment – Average. If you’re not already exercising then the fitness component of the 5 Factor Diet will add a time factor. The meals are no more difficult to prepare than what you are preparing now…unless you’re eating out all the time. In that case plan on 30-45 minutes a day for food preparation.
Strict/Flexible – Pretty flexible overall. There are alot of choices in the recipes and meal plans on the 5 Factor Diet and the diet itself actually tells you to cheat one day out of the week. This cheat day allows you to eat whatever you like.
