With warm weather on the way many of us love to bring out the grill. Grilling is a great way to prepare foods that are delicious and low in both fat and calories. Flank steak is a type of beef that has a wonderful flavor and very low fat content. It is great for marinating and grilling and makes a good addition to any weight loss diet plan. Make sure when slicing flank steak to cut across the grain for maximum tenderness.
Ingredients (Serves 6):
1 ½ lb. lean beef flank steak
¾ C. dry red wine
1 ½ teaspoons lemon pepper
½ teaspoon minced garlic
Cooking spray
Directions:
- Combine wine, garlic, and lemon pepper.
- Pour over steak, cover and marinate in refrigerator over night.
- Heat grill to medium high heat.
- Coat grill rack with cooking spray and place steak on rack.
- Grill over medium high heat for 6 minutes on each side.
- Slice steak into small strips (across grain) to serve.
