You body requires all kinds of food. So do not go on a diet but follow a balanced diet. Be careful not to overeat also. Take the necessary amount of carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, minerals, fat and fiber.

Home cooked food is good for you. If you eat outside you could probably pick up a few extra calories which will add to your weight. So have a good plan for a week ahead and see how it works out.

Eat 6 times a day instead of 3-4 heavy meals. Slow rate of metabolism cannot burn the fat easily. So you should increase your metabolism rate by eating small portions of food six times daily.

Eat more in the first half of the day. Many studies have shown that if you eat more in the morning you may not require much food during the latter part of the day. You will be able to burn off more calories during the day when compared to the late evenings.

Drink lot of water, at least a minimum of 10 glasses a day. It will enhance the rate of metabolism, detoxify and make you feel full so that it will reduce the intake of excess food.

Skip the desserts. It is good to stop eating all kinds of bakery items especially if you have any celebrations. This will help you to reduce your fat intake considerably.

Practice cardiovascular exercises like skipping, swimming, running, cycling and jogging etc for quick results. Spend at least half an hour daily on any one of the above and see the difference it makes.
